Your crime information is worth CASH
Omaha Crime Stoppers will pay between $50 and $1,000 for standard rewards,
and between $1,000 and $25,000 CA$H for Enhanced Rewards.
Payment is awarded for the tip that leads to an arrest.
The amount will vary depending on the severity of the crime
and if it qualifies for one of the many Enhanced Rewards.

All tipsters remain anonymous, meaning we don't know your identity.  We don't want your name and we don't want your phone number.  If we don't have it, no one else will....EVER!

We run encryption on our tip software so no one can ever track you, not even the police.  We will gladly lose a case before we would give access to a tipster. Why?  Because if you cannot stay anonymous, our program doesn't work.

HOW DO I GET PAID?
All tips are assigned an tip ID number.  Tips that lead to an arrest are given a reward amount by the Omaha Crime Stoppers board of directors, which meet once a month to review cases and approve awards.  The tipster is required to call or e-mail back and is then given a code and a bank location to pick up their CASH! That way you still remain unknown to us and anyone you leave us a tip on!

Omaha Crime Stoppers has thee methods of reporting a tip anonymously, to get your information to the officers who need it to make arrests and get you paid.

Use our P3Tips MOBILE APP, go to the P3Tips.com website
or CALL in your tip now to 402-444-STOP (7867)!

The Crime Stoppers Phone Call (402-444-STOP)

Calls to Omaha Crime Stoppers are received on the Crime Stoppers tips line (402-444-STOP), which routes to a call center in Canada.  The call source is encrypted so your phone number is not received or documented and you don't need to worry about calling from a different phone number. Calls are not recorded, and bi-lingual operators are available 24/7.  While you may experience a slight hold during busier times, you will speak with a live operator to provide your information and they will not ask for your name.

The live operator will document the information you provide within our tip information program and provide you with a tip number.  **Important - do not lose your tip number. That tip number is the only way you can get paid if your tip leads to an arrest** Please be as descriptive as you can when providing information to the operator.  If you have the Omaha Police RB#, that is helpful too in quickly routing your information to the correct investigator.

Upon completion of your call, the operator will submit the information to the Crime Stoppers Coordinator through the Crime Stoppers system.  If you see or hear on the news of an arrest in the case, you may call back to the call center to see if your tip was the one that led to an arrest.  Please be patient as it can take a couple weeks between the arrest and the Crime Stoppers award being generated.  If you are awarded a cash reward, you will be given instructions on where to pickup the reward.  Even then, you will not have to give your name, as your tip number is used to claim the reward.

The Online WebTip  (www.p3tips.com)

Tipsters now have the option of giving us tips online through the P3tips.com website. The process is completely secure and anonymous and is a very effective and efficient means of safely communicating with Omaha Crime Stoppers. Our WebTip process is powered by a leading online tip solution provider, P3tips.com.  All of the web tip information is routed through Canada and then back down to us.  The tip is stripped of IP information so there is no tracking or identifying information attached to the tip.

The very unique integrated Two-Way Dialog capabilities allow the tipster to come back and provide additional information to their tip at any time, but also provides a secure means for the Crime Stoppers coordinator to ask questions or provide reward information back to the tipster through the same secure and encrypted interface.  You will not be asked for your name, and the website does not identify your information at all. If you are awarded a cash reward, you will be provided instructions on how to use your tip number to claim your reward at a local bank.  Even then, you will not have to give your name, as your tip number is used to claim the reward.

Mobile Application Tips (P3 Tips app)

This is the best and most efficient way to submit a tip and potentially qualify for a cash reward: Download the "P3 Tips" app for either Apple or Android devices.

The "P3 Tips" mobile app for Android and iPhone allows you to submit anonymous tips with your smartphone.

Additionally, you can attach images and videos to your tips. It adds additional security by securing all information with a user ID and password. There is no cost to use this application and it is free to download for both Apple and Android devices.

Once you select Omaha in the P3 Tips app, it will then default to Omaha Crime Stoppers when you access the app.  Within the app, you may submit tip information, receive updates on your tip, or receive follow-up requests for information on a tip you submitted.  This encrypted, secure, two-way communication is very helpful in making your tip the best it can be, and increasing the possibility that the tip leads to an arrest and you can get paid.  You will not be asked for your name and the app does not identify your information at all. It is a secure and anonymous way to submit Crime Stoppers tips, solve crimes, and get a cash reward.  If you are awarded a cash reward, you will be provided instructions on how to use your tip number to claim your reward at a local bank. Even then, you will not have to give your name, as your tip number is used to claim the reward.

Crime Stoppers Organization and Funding

Crime Stopper Programs are organized as a not for profit organization (Charity). A civilian board of directors provides direction as to the financial and promotional activities of the program. The board of directors works with the community to maintain a helpful and productive Crime Stoppers program, and is key to the continued success of Crime Stoppers.

The Crime Stoppers program is funded by private donations and fund raising efforts. The program receives no TAX DOLLARS. The reward money paid out by the program is from the fund raising and donations from concerned citizens and businesses.

A community board of directors, made up of persons from throughout the area, meets on a monthly basis to evaluate arrests and to decide on the size of rewards to be paid. Rewards are then distributed in a private manner to the anonymous person by way of their tip number. Rewards range from $50 up to $25,000.

Does Crime Stoppers Work?

The answer is quite simply yes. Since the start of Crime Stoppers, many calls have been received resulting in thousands of arrests and recovery of substantial amounts of property. Calls have included information about murder, robbery, rape, assaults, drug and firearm offenses.

The success of a Crime Stoppers program cannot be purely judged on statistics, however, other benefits have come to notice:

  • A greater awareness in the community that there is a crime problem.
  • A willingness by the community to fight back against crime if it is given the opportunity and motivation.
  • Improved relationships between police, media, and the community.

Crime Stoppers is definitely here to stay. It is a vital and effective investigative tool and a way for the public to get involved in the safety of their community while remaining anonymous and unknown themselves.
